Sniper’s Log – 2012-01-07: Happy New Year. I attended part of the Sydney Festival together with masses of folks excited to see several world-renowned artists perform live at Hyde Park. But somehow, I was more particularly excited to see the endless sea of interesting people I could Snipe. And so I Sniped, and Sniped – until I ran out of light, or until my attention was finally grabbed by the Amazing performance of Manu Chao La Ventura.
A few snaps I took at CBA’s Centenary Celebration – how’s that for an “office party!”
An extensive investigation into the whereabouts of missing billionaire Chris Cringle has left authorities utterly clueless. Cringle, last seen when this photograph was taken, claimed to have entered a state of severe depression after losing his North Pole mansion to foreclosure and filing for bankruptcy — but recent evidence uncovered in a dispute with retail giant Toys-R-Us indicates Cringle may have embezzled up to two trillion dollars over the past 10 years.
Cringle is now wanted for criminal charges in 40 countries and is believed to be in hiding. If you’ve seen Chris Cringle – anywhere, at anytime, please notify your local authorities immediately.
Arguably the best position to approach from in certain situations – but the rear view of a subject less often becomes the target of my lens.
Nonetheless, looking back at some of those rare occasions I have shot someone in the back, the images tend to identify with static postures; mood; motion; contrasty lighting; or fashion – while I usually focus more on the facial expressions associated with human behaviour.
